Getting Unstuck Part 8: The Pep Talk You Never Knew You Needed

podcast Apr 23, 2025

I want to have a heart-to-heart with you today. If you've been following my journey, you know we've covered so much ground together—from recognizing emotions to creating game plans and developing an adaptable mindset through challenges. But today is different. Today is about you.

Because I know right now, you might feel tired. You might be questioning whether anything you're doing is even working. You might be thinking, "What's the point? Why does it feel like nothing is changing?"

I need you to hear me loud and clear: You are changing. You are doing the work. And even if it doesn't feel like it right now, you are further along than you were before.

Sometimes we show up expecting instant results. And when things don't happen as quickly as we want, we start questioning ourselves. But progress is happening even when you can't see it.

Take a breath with me. In and out.

You're doing better than you think. You're stronger than you give yourself credit for. And right now, even if you don't feel like you're winning, you're still in the game. That means something.

You woke up today. You showed up. Maybe you didn't feel like it. Maybe you only had 30% to give, but guess what? That 30% was 100% of what you had today. And that means you gave it your all.

We're so quick to celebrate other people. We cheer them on and remind them they're amazing. But when it comes to ourselves? We're so quick to judge. "I'm not doing enough." "I should be further." "This should be easier."

Let's flip the script.

What if you started talking to yourself the way you talk to your best friend? Would you tell them they suck? That they should quit? That they aren't good enough? No way! You'd remind them how much they've done, how they keep going even when it's hard.

So let me be that person for you right now: You are not behind. You're not failing. You are learning. You are growing.

Every champion has days where they feel like nothing's working. Every strong, powerful person you look up to has had moments exactly like this, where they doubted themselves. What separates them from everyone else? They kept going.

And so will you.

Here's what I want you to do:

  1. Celebrate yourself – Take a moment to acknowledge how far you've come. Say it out loud: "I am proud of myself for _____."
  2. Stack your wins – Start tracking even the smallest victories. Got out of bed when you wanted to hide under the covers? That's a win. Sent that scary email? Win. Moved your body just a little? Win.
  3. Ask yourself daily: What if it all goes right? Not "what if I fail?" but "What if everything is lining up for me right now, even if I can't see it yet?"

Remember this: The only way you lose is if you quit. The only way you don't make it is if you stop. And you're not stopping because you are strong, you are capable, and you are closer than you think.

Take that deep breath, shake off the doubt, and keep going.

Because what if it all goes right? What if it's already going right?

What's one win you're celebrating today? I'd love to hear it!
