๐ฅ Tearing My ACL on National TV
I was in the strongest shape of my life, competing on American Ninja Warrior, and suddenly, everything changed in an instant. Tearing my ACL left me physically and emotionally broken. I could’ve easily stayed in that dark place, felt defeated, and let that injury define me. But I realized that I had a choice—to sit and wait for things to get better, or to start designing a comeback. I chose to take control, and that decision changed everything.
๐ฅ Being Told I Was “Too Muscular” to Model
I can’t tell you how many times I heard, “You’re too manly; you’ll never model.” But instead of letting someone else’s opinion stop me, I took charge and pursued my dreams anyway. Today, I’m proud to have graced the cover of three top fitness magazines. Living by design meant proving that I could create my path, regardless of what anyone else said.
๐ฅ Hearing My Voice Was “Annoying” in Fitness Studios
At a fitness studio I once worked at, I was told that my voice wasn’t fit for the industry and that I’d never be taken seriously as a speaker. But I loved helping and motivating people, and I wasn’t going to let one opinion stop me. Today, I speak to hundreds, empowering them to live their lives with strength and confidence.
It’s easy to feel like we’re just “going through the motions.” Whether it’s a busy work schedule, a breakup, divorce, or even the loss of a loved one, these challenges have the power to hold us back if we let them. But they also have the power to help us grow, adapt, and change if we take control.
