People hear the word resilience and assume it’s something you either have or you don’t—like it’s some kind of superpower only a few lucky people are born with.
But the truth? Resilience is built, not born. It’s a skill you develop, a muscle you strengthen every time life throws a curveball your way.
And let’s be real—life has a way of throwing a LOT of them.
For me, resilience has been tested in ways I never imagined. From tearing my ACL on national television to navigating massive career shifts, I’ve faced moments where I felt completely stuck, questioning whether I had what it took to keep going.
And right now? I’ll be honest—I’m in one of those moments again.
I’m shifting from being all fitness all the time to stepping into something bigger: teaching resilience, adaptability, and peak performance for life, business, and leadership.
And let me tell you… it’s uncomfortable as hell.
It’s scary stepping into the unknown. It’s frustrating when things don’t click as fast as you want them to. And it’s easy to get caught up in worst-case scenario thinking.
But here’s what I’ve learned: Every “stuck” moment is actually preparing you for something bigger.
And resilience? It’s what gets you from stuck to thriving.
Resilience isn’t about never struggling. It’s not about avoiding pain or pretending everything is fine.
Resilience is about:
✔ Feeling the hard emotions—but not getting stuck in them.
✔ Learning how to adapt when things don’t go as planned.
✔ Taking action even when you’re scared, uncertain, or overwhelmed.
And the biggest myth?
🚫 Resilience isn’t always loud, big, or heroic.
Most of the time, it’s small.
It’s quiet.
It’s the choice to keep moving forward when no one is watching.
You don’t need to have all the answers today. You just need to take one step forward.
Here’s what’s helped me:
📝 Feel Your Feelings—But Don’t Stay Stuck.
You’re allowed to have a pity party. Cry it out. Write it down. But then? Decide to keep moving.
🔄 Reframe the Challenge.
Instead of “Why is this happening to me?” ask:
💡 What if this is actually happening FOR me?
🚀 Take One Small Action.
When everything feels overwhelming, focus on one thing you can do right now. Small momentum leads to big shifts.
🔥 Lean Into Discomfort.
Growth hurts—but avoiding it only makes it worse. Instead of running from the hard stuff, run toward it. That’s where resilience is built.
🎯 Come Back to Your Purpose.
When things feel impossible, reconnect with why you started. When your “why” is strong, quitting isn’t an option.
I don’t know exactly where this next phase of my journey is leading—but I do know this:
Every challenge I’ve faced in the past has set me up for something greater.
And if you’re feeling stuck right now? You’re not alone.
This moment might be the exact thing that prepares you for the next level.
So take a deep breath. Trust yourself. Keep moving.
