Today, I want to talk about a topic that's close to my heart - facing your worst-case scenario. We all know that feeling when we're on the brink of taking that leap towards a massive goal, but fear of failure holds us back. I've been there too, in business, athletics, and relationships.
But here's a question for you:
Have you ever taken a moment to ponder your worst-case scenario? Is it really as bad as you think?
Chances are, it's not as dire as you imagine, and you will make it through. After all, you've already overcome so much adversity in your life, which has made you the amazing person you are today.
Let me share a few worst-case scenarios from my own journey:
1οΈβ£ Leaving my high-paying pharmaceutical job to become a "fitness instructor."
Worst-case scenario? I fail, and I go back to find a "real job" again. Not so bad, right?
2οΈβ£ Closing down my gym to chase my dream in NYC and possibly disappointing those I've helped.
Worst-case scenario? People may be upset for a while, but they'll move on. If I fail in NYC, I might have to live with my parents again. Still not that bad.
3οΈβ£ Coming back from my ACL tear on Ninja Warrior.
Worst-case scenario? I get hurt again, heal again, come back stronger, and learn more. Not too shabby.
So, is your worst-case scenario really that terrifying? Can you live with it? If your current goal is to start working on your pull-up but fear of failure has held you back, I want to remind you - so what if you fail? Is it really that bad to work on something for yourself, get stronger, and stay consistent?
Here are three pieces of personal advice from me on how to stand again after a failure:
π± Embrace the fear: Fear is a sign that you're challenging yourself. It's an essential part of growth.
π Learn from setbacks: Every failure is an opportunity to learn and grow stronger.
π€ Surround yourself with support: Lean on your community and friends, like the Pull-Up Revolution family, for encouragement and inspiration.
